Knitting Baby Blanket

After a really tiring and sickly 1st trimester...I'm glad to be feeling much better now.
Have most of my energy back but since now I'm bigger and heavier...I'm getting clumsy.
Doesn't help that Marcus boy is a hyper toddler!

Was thinking of my 1st gift to baby no.2 and I thought since I made an ABC Baby Afghan for Marcus, I'm going to stick to the theme and decided to knit a baby blanket =)

Made my way to the knitting shop in Subang Parade and got myself started on the blanket last week.
When finished, the baby blanket would be white with brown stripes and brown borders.
Hopefully it'll turn out nice and comfy.

My knits are not very even, have to work on the tension

2 rows of stripes so far...many many more to go

Not sure how long it's going to take me to finish this blanket, but definitely it's getting done before baby no.2 arrives.
I think I caught the knitting bug...so I've been looking around online for yarns to make more baby stuffs. There's so many beautiful yarns in the USA....and cheap too *sigh*

Anyways, I already have my next project in mind. Not knitting but cross stitch =) That would probable have to wait awhile until baby no.2 is a little bigger.

So now we're just counting down the days till baby pops and I shall update my progress on the blanket soon!

McDonald's Mala Grilled Pork Burger

As usual, I can't resist McD's. I'm actually craving for the Prosperity burger *drool* that we have back in KL. Since the McD's here came up with a new burger, Mum and I decided to try it for lunch today.

So I put on my jeans, a wool long sleeved shirt, long thick jacket, socks, boots and my newly knitted scarf to brave the cold cold streets of Macau.

Me and my new pink scarf that I finished knitting yesterday. Pretty right? I mean me ;P

This is lunch. Two burgers, a pie, curly fries and Coke.
This is what we came for...PORK burger
It's "Mala" flavour Grilled Pork Burger.
Looks yummy doesn't it?
Mala is actually a combined flavour of Sichuan peppercorn and hot chili. Turns out that this burger is not really spicy. Taste kinda weird actually as the sauce is pepperish and sourish at the same time. The pork is tender though. As can be seen in the pic...all you get is a bun, a piece of meat and some onions.

Next...we tried the Mala Grilled Chicken Burger.
I know it looks kinda gross in the pic. Too much sauce for the poor burger and it ended up looking as if it drowned. Surprisingly, this burger tasted different from the pork burger though both are Mala flavour.
At least the chicken one doesn't taste sourish. Okay...now I'm wondering if there's something wrong with the pork burger we ate 0_o

I think the pie is so cute...it has the warning "Caution. Handle with care. I'm HOT". Same warning applies to ME =P

This is how a red bean pie looks like. Mum said it was too sweet.

Hands down the curly fries was the best thing we had for lunch today.

I still think KL's Prosperity burger beats the Mala burger anytime. No competition at all. Some more the Prosperity comes in beef patties.

Don't think I'll have the Mala burger again. Not my kinda burger. Shall wait for the next pork burger to arrive in Macau =D

Knitting Craze

One day while shopping in Zhuhai, I came across a stall selling knitted scarfs. Since it's winter now, scarfs make a pretty fashion addition to any outfit.

Since I didn't fancy any of the ready knitted ones on sale, I decided to buy the yarn I wanted and knit it myself!

Got myself a ball of yarn and the gal manning the stall taught me how to knit it.

It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. So I finished knitting my first scarf on the same day.

First scarf I knitted(greyish one in the pic) is for Eric. It's to keep him warm and fuzzy during cold winter days. Once I started knitting...I can't stop. So I knitted him a brown one as well to match his jacket =)

Knitting can be so addictive...just like cross stitching. See how many scarfs I've knitted in just a week?

The soft furry balls come in two sizes. The purple ones only about half the size of the blue ones. Both the scarfs are birthday presents.

This blue one is a for my cousin Melissa who is doing her medical degree in freezing Russia. I hope she likes it.

I've still got two more balls of yarn to knit into scarfs. Mum chose the black one and the pink one is for me.

Can't believe how much I enjoy knitting =) I'm hoping to learn how to knit a sweater someday.

This year, friends and family will be getting knitted scarfs as presents.

I'm not dumb...I know Malaysia is too hot for scarfs. But it might just come in handy for trips to cooler countries or Genting Highlands =P
