Whirlwind of Changes

Marcus boy turned 5 months old a few days back.
Can't believe how fast he's growing up.
Now...he screams when he's playing...when he wants something or when he just needs attention.
He can also roll over onto his tummy by himself pretty well, he just doesn't know how to roll back...hahaha
When he gets tired of being on his tummy he'll scream so we'll come to his rescue.

We have also start feeding him a little Cerelac daily.
OMG...he loves it!
When he's having Cerelac, you have to keep feeding him without pausing.
When you are slow..he'll scream =P

Marcus boy could also sit pretty well assisted and loves going for walks outside.
We reckon he's about 8+ kgs now...will know for sure when we take him to the Paed for his jab next week.

Since Marcus boy pop into our lives, everyone has been saying he looks like his pretty Mummy.
Now...he's slowly looking more and more like his Daddy!
I hope he'll be as tall as his daddy but have Mummy's teeth =)

Marcus boy is just too cute for words.
And being spoilt silly by his grand parents, grand aunties, aunties and me =P

Anyways, have been experiencing some changes in my career.
Changed jobs recently and it came as a surprised to everyone...including me.
Was headhunted and within a week, I went for an interview, got an offer and resigned.
Started working for my new company almost immediately.
I feel kinda guilty leaving my team so abruptly...but I believe they are trained well enough to manage without me....or at least until my former manager comes back after her maternity leave.
Took a guilt trip as well for leaving right before my ex-manager was supposed to deliver her baby.
Happy to report that mummy & baby are doing well =)
And we are now even friends on FB.

Just completed my 1st week in the new company.
Am still trying to find my equilibrium, stumbling around.
Hopefully things will be better soon *cross fingers*

My Cloth Diaper Stash

Recently, I've gone a little overboard with my online shopping spree....hehehe
Eric doesn't know the extend of it yet so sshhhhhhhhh...
The temptation was too great I tell you...so I ended up with some adorable cloth diapers for Marcus boy =P

My new Grovias <3 Mod Flower & Owl AI2 (all-in-2) and Nature AIO (all-in-one)

Happy Heiny Cow and Blueberry Minky Green Camo...love love love the minky fabric!

New and ready to be prep...they've gone through their first wash today...

Got myself a Planet Wise wet/dry bag in Art Deco print as well. Read super good reviews about them...crossing fingers that it lives up to the hype.

My current Ice (Blue) & Mandarin (Orange) Grovias joining new Grovia comrades for a photo shoot. I love the hook & loop (velcro) but decided to go with snaps for the new diapers just to try it out.

I was contemplating whether to get the Owl or Planes pattern as both got popular votes from Mummies & babies everywhere. Went with the Owl and they are oh-so-so cute =)

Cloth Diapers stash I have at the moment. 2 Bamboolite pocket, 5 Grovias, 1 Happy Heiny & 1 Blueberry Minky.

Since I'm really new to cloth diapering, it's advisable to try out different brands of CD (cloth diaper) to find the one that works best for my baby.
Babies are all unique so some brands will fit better than others.
I started out with Grovia (I just love the colours) and Bamboolite (was on promotion and made of bamboo which has antibacterial properties...made in M'sia)

Saw Happy Heiny(HH) & Blueberry(BB) on sale and decided to try it too...I really really wanted a CD made from minky (fluffy fabric). Saw the super cute camouflage print and I'm sold!!! =P

HH, BB and Grovia AIO are being prep at the moment...would have to go through a few more washes to get the absorbency up and then I'll try it on Marcus boy.
Even without putting it on Marcus...I already know I'm going to love my Grovia AIO.

I can't wait....to get my hands on more cloth diapers =P

My Maternity Shots

Back in January when Marcus Boy was still comfortably cradled inside me, I had my maternity shots taken by Two Pixels.

You can only go through your first pregnancy once...you know, like losing one's virginity.

Must cherish the once in a lifetime experience.

So I decided to have pics of me taken while I look like a penguin for memories.
If I'm gonna look like a penguin, might as well be a beautiful one =P

And also I get show them to Marcus Boy when he's bigger...let him know what he did to Mummy's figure!

There were many shots taken...alas, I only look good in some pics.
In many pics, I think I look too BIG, smile not nice enough, hair too messy, looked too tired...etc.
Hence lots of pics of only the baby bump =P

I'm glad I have many beautiful pics as well =)
It just seems so surreal...that I was once that big with Marcus Boy growing inside me <3

The Stages

The easiest part in the whole wonderful experience of having Marcus boy...is the 'baby making' stage.
It's fun...and pleasurable ;P
I'm sure nobody minds going through this stage over and over again.

Then the 'pregnant' stage hits. It ain't so fun anymore.
Nausea and vomiting.
Followed by cravings, weight gain, tiredness, swelling feet and sweating all the time.
Not too mention unattractively waddling around like a penguin and needing to pee ever so often.

Just when I've had enough of being mistaken for an Asian penguin...
The 'birth stage' was a welcomed relieve.
That is...until the contractions started and let me tell you...you never knew pain until you had a baby.
I can't even describe the level of pain we women have to bear in childbirth (the natural way and not Cesarean)
Yup...It was freaking scary.
Was it worth it? Of course!
But a little less pain would've made it a more pleasant experience!

Now we're at the 'bundle of joy' stage.
Marcus boy is the joy of my life...just seeing him smile makes my day.
But I could do with more sleep.
I am exhausted from lack of sleep and rest.
The cycle of taking care of Marcus during the night to working during the day is taking a toll on me.
Finding it really hard to focus at work when I miss my baby.
And finding it hard to spend quality time with my baby when I'm exhausted.
I do feel guilty for not being able to spend more time with him...what can this Mommy do?
There is only so many hours in a day...and they're never enough =(

Celebrating Mother's Day

It's Mother's Day weekend.

I'm still at awe that now I'm somebody's mommy.

I now have my precious Marcus Boy <3

Who at 2 months old...just lights up my life.

Unexpectedly, Eric managed to take the weekend off which is rare during such occasions.

So off we went to Mid Valley as I wanted to check out stuffs at the Baby and Mom Expo.

Lunch was at Pasta Zanmai as Mum wanted Japanese cuisine.

Though Pasta Zanmai is more fusion than Japanese, it is the nearest outlet to where we were.

Marcus Boy wanted his milk so we made a dash for the restaurant.

Some roll that came with Mum's set...it came with a bowl of pasta with tempura.

Tiramisu...not too shabby...I've had better.

1st time Mommy and Marcus Boy <3

After we've had lunch and Marcus Boy his milk, we head to the baby fair.
It was crowded alright...barely any walking space let alone to push a stroller.
There were pretty good bargains at the fair...if you don't mind shopping in claustrophobic and noisy conditions.
We did managed to get some stuffs...many more I wanted to check out but we didn't have much time.

Nuk teething rings...can't remember how much it cost exactly but they were cheaper than many other brands we saw at the fair. They were less than RM10 each.
I have total faith in this brand. Marcus uses their bottles for feeding as well.

Stuffs from Pureen...

84 pieces disposable breast pad - It was a good buy at RM30. The cheapest I found before was during Babyland sale for about RM34. A must have for breastfeeding moms. Saw many ladies grabbing this too!

Baby wet wipes - 2 x 100pcs for RM9.

Liquid cleanser for bottels & teats refill pack - 2 x 650ml at RM22. We are currently using this to wash Marcus's bottles and also my breast pump.Wanted to get the bottle (instead of refill) promotion as well but too heavy lar. Anyways, the refill packs will last us for many months. We've yet to finish the 1st bottle since Marcus's arrived.

Nappy Rash cream(50g) RM7 - Marcus doesn't really use nappy cream but then no harm having some around the house just in case.

Baby toothbrush & gum massager RM5 - Since baby starts teething from 4 months onwards...this will come in handy. For now...will try to massage his gums if he'll let me. Marcus tends to bite when we clean his mouth with cotton.

Rekito Mosquito Repellent RM 16 - Recently Marcus got bitten by a blood sucking mosquito on his face during the night. I've gotten lots of grieve from "people" because of this.
Hello...you think I want a mozzy to bite my baby? *sigh*
So now armed with a repellent...hopefully mozzies will stay the hell away from my sweet blooded baby =)
Just in case you're wondering...Don't spray a baby with the mosquito repellent lar.
Don't even let the chemical come in contact with baby's skin.
Just spray on things around him such as bedsheet, stroller or sarong.
The smell will keep mozzies at bay.

And please spray when baby is not around so it won't get into baby's eyes.
Use some common sense lar when it comes to things like this.

I enjoyed my Mother's Day out.
Hopefully Marcus boy did too.
Can't wait for the day when he can wish me a "Happy Mother's Day" =)

2 months and counting

Oh how time flies!
At the blink of an eye...my little baby is now such a big boy.
He has started cooing a lot when we talk to him...so cute *melts*
My oh my...what can I say about his toothless grin and adorable laugh?
Breaks my heart to leave him this morning and go back to work =(

I'm still expressing breast milk for Marcus. He takes it during day time while night time we feed him formula (we chose Snow as it was highly recommended).
This way we could also soften the weaning process when I stop having breast milk and let him go on formula full time.
He seems alright with such an arrangement...not too fussy about it but he does prefer breast milk =)
Not sure how long I could keep up with milk pumping while working at the same time though.

Have also started cloth diapering Marcus part time.
Since I only bought 4 cloth diapers (2 Grovia s& 2 Bamboolites) to experiment, he uses them all up in 1 day.
So far so good...I do prefer Grovia All-in-Two as we just need to change the soaker (we have 4 soakers and 2 shells) when it's wet compared to Bamboolite's pocket.
Even Mum prefers Grovia as she said Bamboolite is too bulky and thick.
Hopefully I'm able to get a good deal on more cloth diapers during the Baby Fair in May then Marcus could be cloth diapered full time, which is my goal.
The only problem is cloth diapers doesn't come cheap *sigh*
Same goes for formula milk =(

Wish I didn't have to work.
Somehow...I feel as if I'm neglecting him by going to working.
I hope my baby knows that if I could, I would stay home all day just to cuddle him <3

So...we said 'Bye' to Tiger and 'Hi' to Rabbit.
We waited anxiously everyday for the pass month or so...
"D"(due) date came and gone...
and Jr. is still happily incubating inside me.

Geez...all that anticipation...and now we are faced with the possibility of having a big baby (coz babies puts on weight really fast after they're due) which will lead to a C-sect instead of having him the natural way.

I was really hoping to have Jr. by natural birth and without any epidural (too many side effects that bothers me) but I never ruled out C-sect just in case the situation calls for such intervention.

Doc gave Jr. another week to make his grand entrance into this world by himself...if he still refuses to budge...then we're left with no other choice.

What a dilemma =(

My Baby Daddy

Yesterday

I'm still working (unfortunately) but this will be my last week and then I'm off to wait for Jr's arrival away from all the stress.
Eric just got back from a trip overseas and had a few days off so I rushed back from work to hopefully spend some alone time with him (I barely get to see him when he's working such long hours)

When I got home, the door was closed tight and no one was in sight.
I thought Mum and Eric both had gone out and not gotten back yet.
I was feeling a little dissapointed at that point.
Decided to go upstairs and change my blouse as I..erm...kinda ripped it a little at work =(
When I got to our room, I realized Eric was home afterall. Yay!

I peeked inside and I saw him standing in Jr's nursery.
He was folding small little shirts and pants with cute booties scattered around *melts*
It was such a lovely sight...this man, this big strong man was surrounded by baby stuffs everywhere and he's taking such great care in folding this small little shirt.
I wish I took a picture of that very moment...I was speechless and I was tearing up (damn those hormones) just staring at him.

He even organized the drawers. Telling me why he placed clothes, diapers, washclothes, bibs..etc in each particular drawer.
All this from a guy who doesn't even know what's in the drawers of our own closet after so many years!
I was surprised he took it upon himself to fix the baby bed and even knows how many milk bottles we already have for Jr.

Maybe I've misread how excited he is about Jr's arrival.
All this while he seems cool and not crazily over ethusiastic happy like me when we first saw Jr during an ultrasound....or when he felt Jr kick & move for the 1st time.
He doesn't read the parenting magazine or baby books that I bought many moons back.
He doesn't ask the gynea any questions.
Heck...even when we're out shopping for baby stuffs, it was done in record time.

But now...now, I'm in awe.

Completed afghan with maroon backing and knotted edges

When I found out I was preggers with Jr., I finally made my way to the textile shop and bought some material to complete my baby afghan.
Chose a soft dark maroon cloth as the backing.
A dark colour will be able to hide any stains in the future...we are using it for a baby, stains are inevitable.

Took the afghan and backing material to a tailor and he sew it for me.
Then made knots for the edges.
And it's complete =)

I hope Jr. would love his afghan...my 1st present for my little prince <3

Baby Nursery Checklist - Pt.1

Everyone knows having a baby doesn't come cheap these days.
There's so many things to consider from baby's clothes to cute lil' booties.
Not forgetting insurance policy and future education fund.
Among all the happy anticipations of Junior's impending arrival...there's a whole list of things to prepare for him...started pretty late on this checklist, but as they say, better late than never =)

Cot and Bedding

We've considered getting a travel cot cum playpen. But after visiting Ikea, we've decided on a toddler bed with guard rails instead of a baby cot. I know it's kinda out of the ordinary to do so but I've heard so many stories about babies not liking sleeping in a cot and it's a waste of money. Hence, we got a lil bed that Junior could use till he's about 7 or 8. Hopefully we made the right decision as it doesn't come cheap. Got him a nice mattress and plain sheets to start with. Have read that babies don't need any pillow or bolster as it might cause Sudden Infant Death Syndrome(SIDS). So we'll add accessories to his bed when necessary.

Diapering

We're planning to use a cloth diapering system for Jr. It's the modern kind of cloth diapers and they're oh-so-cute (not the kind that our mommies and grannies used in the olden days). Why you ask? Well, we (or I actually) have some pretty good reasons for considering being a cloth diaper(CD) mommy.

1st - Save lots of $$$. It's cheaper in the long run (but that also depends the brands/types of cute diapers I can't resist buying) as these CD are washable therefore reusable which means...

2nd - We can use the same CD for our next child! Saving us more $$$.

3rd - CD will keep baby's bottom smooth and itch free. Heard of diaper rash caused by disposable diapers? Yup, it's painful for babies and agony for mommies.

4th - Save the environment. I'm trying to contribute my little bit to save the environment. Just imagine the amount of disposable diapers that goes into our landfills daily. It's not a pretty sight.

I'm not naive, I know it won't be easy to CD a baby when there are so many other things to do. Anyhow, I'm determine to give it a try and see how it goes =)

Happy New Year 2011

Once again the year flew by and we're ushering in a New Year.
And this year, we're saying "Hello" to 2011 with a 'bun-in-the-oven' =)

Yup, we're having a baby soon...and yes, I look like a whale now at 8 months.
Junior is getting pretty big...and so am I =(
A truly unfortunate consequences of having such good appetite while preggers.

I know I haven't been blogging for a long long time.
Working & being preggers at the same time doesn't leave much time for much else (it's tiring lar waddling around like a penguin everywhere)
And now we've been busy shopping for Junior's essentials when he meets us next year.
So many things to buy for a baby...and they're not cheap either *sobs sobs*

So...did I have morning sickness?
Of course lar...but it's probably on the mild side compared to some other preggers mummy I've seen.
I was nauseous (it's like having a permanent hangover after a night of partying) and was prone to puking.
My face also broke out like crazy (damn those pimple causing hormones!) and nothing could help =(
Thank goodness the nausea, puking and pimples all went away when I got into my 4th month.

Did I crave for any special food?
Yup...no doubt about it.
I consumed food like a hungry horse (which contributed to me looking like a whale now).

Mostly it was fast food. McD's are my fav (I can smell the fries...*drools*).
Pizzas too but I try not to have them often.
I was also craving durian and I had lots of them thanks to my father-in-law until suddenly durian season was over =( Those thorny fruits were no where to be found.
I also craved for longan which was in season..then wasn't and now in again?
BUT...my ultimate cravings was for Lychees!!! *drools dreamily*
I want those fresh lychees with red red skin and juicy juicy flesh.
Those in cans from supermarket won't do. No thanks.
I'm still craving for lychees but damn they're not in season *sigh*
Guess I'll just have to make do with McD's then =P

There's so much I wanna blog about...just have to find the time.
For now...Wishing Everyone a Happy Fabulous New Year!

Being stressed out

Okay...I'm not the only person that's stressed in this world...won't be the first and definitely not the last.

People had always said that managing people is the hardest role in the working environment.
I totally agree.
I am bothered by some people's attitude.
Seriously, I actually smiled while I was seething inside like mad.
God, that was a freaking hard thing to do.
Going to have lots of things to learn in my new role.
Managing people would be a priority for now...I just hope I don't end up nuttier than i am now.

Not sure how I'm going to juggle all these new things in the office and also in our personal lives.
When would everything finally settle down? Probably never.

How I wish I can change certain things that's happening...but many things are beyond my control. So let it be.
If it works out, good.
If it doesn't, walk away.

Would it be that easy? I hope so. I want to have that choice. The choice to just walk.

Changes

Lots of events are happening in our lives right now.
Double Tree by Hilton just opened and Eric is super buzy with work =(
I barely get to see him...and when I do, he looks more like a zombie (from lack of sleep).

My closest cousins are moving overseas...super sad about that.
It's good for them of course, but I'll miss them lots.
Melaine is working in Shanghai.
Melissa in Moscow.
And little Ann is going to the USA to study.

Just when I come back, everyone else moves away...
I wish them all the best...just remember to come home to visit.

Many of our closest and oldest friends are getting married in the next few months.
That's goin to burn a huge hole in our pocket.
Unavoidable I guess...just wish Chinese wedding dinners didn't cost so much...it's the guests that are going broke -_-

As for me...there're changes with me too.
Only a handful of people knows about it...well...the time will come =)

Nostalgic

I know...I know...i haven't been blogging much.
There is actually a very good reason for that which I'll reveal in time.

Anyways, I'm feeling super nostalgic today.
Not many of my friends know that I've just started with a new company.
I'm just slightly over 1 month old here.
You know how it is with a new company...new colleagues, new environment, new jobscope, new stress and what's not.
So far, people have been friendly but I've yet to make a real connection and have real buddies.
I'm still kinda sceptical of people...it'll take time I guess.

I was chatting with Regina online when I received an SMS from Lucinda.
Both these gals have been wonderful colleagues and friends since my days with Maersk.
And that's like 5 years back?
Oh my...time does flies.

And suddenly..I'm flooded with memories of those days in Maersk's office.
The group of friends we had..the crazy stuffs we used to do...the fun gossips sessions.
Yes..we worked like crazy chipmunks but we had loads of fun too.
No company is ever perfect, but I had the best colleagues there.
And I miss them all.
Many have moved on in their careers...some moved away...some just lost touch.
If they are all still there...I would've considered going back there.
But that's just life.
The only constant thing in life is change.
I just miss having people that 'clicks' with me.
Maybe I'm feeling what all newbies feel in a new environment...hopefully things gets better soon.

I know I can't turn back time.
But how I wish I could go back to those days in Maersk.

Routine

Life has slowed into a routine lately.
Nothing much is happening but work, eat and sleep.
I'm now craving for some excitement in my life.

There's going to be changes next week...
I'm excited but also worried.
Not sure what to expect so I'll elaborate more once I've survived my 1st day.

I've also been putting on weight like crazy =(
Must do something about it...not eating is NOT an option.
Love my yummy foods too much to give it up!
Just gotta get my fat ass moving...maybe it's time to give that treadmill a try.

The weather has been crazy nice the past few days.
It's so bloody hard to get up from our warm bed when it's raining outside in the morning.
Then it's cloudy the whole day which makes me sleepy in the office.
Not being very productive this week =P

Early Birthday Present

So...I got an early birthday present =)
Can't believe I got so many offers in such a short period of time.
The hard part is in choosing the right one for me.
After asking advice from many many people, the all gave me the same answer.
It's tempting to go the other way...but my decision is based on long term prospects.
Short term gratification might just come back and bite me on the ass.
I'm hoping it's the right decision *cross fingers*
But I won't know till the time comes.
Here's to my early birthday present...hopefully...more presents to come!

Unsettling

Sometimes I wonder why I feel like I'm the edge all the time.
I can't seem to settle down...and be truly happy.
Something is missing...I know it.
I wonder if it's me that's causing all this negative energy around me.
I'm restless most of the times...lost in my own crazy thoughts.
Maybe I should cheack myself into a retreat...like staying at a temple and just meditate to find inner peace.
Maybe I should just not care anymore...the more I care, the crazier I get.
Why should my happiness be determined by someone else?
I'm trying so hard to change....not easy and it's a bloody struggle everyday.
Why can't people just accept us for who we are?
I hope I find what I'm looking for soon...if only to keep me sane.

Moving On

It's been awhile since I blogged. I actually missed blogging but with me back in the work force right now, not much time is left after a day of work.
Weekends are spent with Eric as he's now fortunate enough to be off on Sundays.
Things will definitely change soon when the hotel opens.

Can't believe I've been working for almost 2 months already.
Time just whoosh by and I'm left wondering what I've done in 2 months.

Work is stressful sometimes.
Confusing in other times.
I'm still learning and I'm going as fast as I can.
But I'm so tired...I'm hoping I'll figure out what I want soon.

Again I feel like I'm back at square one.
The feelings are back and this time, I'm keeping it all inside.
I know it's bad, I know it'll drive me nuts. I have no choice.
How can I forget? How can I not remember?
It still hurts like a bitch.
I tried to let go. God knows I tried but yet it haunts me.
I'm trying to be strong, to be brave.
I'm beginning to feel that I've lost myself in the quest to make others happy.
Walking on eggshells all the time is exhausting...
So many things I'm bottling up inside...when would it end?
Who would understand these conflicting thoughts of mine?

As the sun sets everyday...I feel that I'm drifting further away.
I need an explanation...I want to fucking know why?
And yet that is an answer I'll never know till the day I'm dead and 6 feet under.

So what did I fought so hard for?
Only time will tell if my sacrifices and pain was worth it.
Until then...I'll just fake it till I fucking believe it.

Ever heard of Murphy's Law?

"Anything that can go wrong will go wrong"

That sort of sum up my day.
It all started on Tuesday with the the sky pouring cat's & dogs in the afternoon which affected work at the site I'm looking after =(
Wednesday continued being crappy and it kicked into high gear after lunch where we got some unexpected disappointing news which threw things into a chaos.
The sky was threatening to pour again today and I was worried sick.
With dark clouds over our heads, we managed to get some important work done at the site.
I even got down & dirty helping the workers with some planting just so we could finish faster.
Ended the day with a trip to the USJ 8 police station.
Got into a freaking accident right after the USJ 21 Petronas/KFC while heading back to the office.
It's none of my fault as I was the 2nd car in a 4 cars chain reaction.
Nope, I'm not hurt. Thank you for asking.
Just a little shaken as the impact was pretty strong in such a small car.
It's just such a freaking bad day.

Oh...and pimples are popping out all over my face again =(
And I'm fucking putting on weight from stress eating.
Room in a mess...closet in a mess...car in a mess.
Bills to pay...income tax to declare...things to fix.
Even my pedicure is in a sad state =(
Talk about pushing one over the edge.

I so need a hug right now but Eric's in Singapore.
He better cross his fingers and hope that he doesn't come home to a crazy wife @_@

Ink Stains

So...yesterday I had a meeting with a client of ours and I wore one of my nicer working shirts which was beige in colour.
We walked around the site and I was taking notes while sweating like a mad woman.
After the meeting, my boss said to me "Ohh...you have ink on your shirt"
I managed to draw graffity on my beautiful shirt with black ink -_-

Everyone told me it's hard to get ink out from fabric and it obviously made me quite upset lar...with my stupidity.
I should've been more careful with such a powerful weapon in my hands trotting around in 3 inch heels with a big document bag on my shoulder and a notebook!
Sigh...
What can a working gal do?
Well....thank goodness for Google!
Once I got back to the office, I quickly Google on how to remove ink stains from clothes.
Found this great tip on eHow on how it's done.
I'm a little sceptical on using hairspray so I tried with nail polish remover instead.
And it freaking worked!!!
At first I freaked out a little as the nail polish remover actually made the ink spread into a bigger mess...but I kept blotting and blotting with cotton buds until the ink was almost all gone =)
There was still a faint shadow of the stain (my shirt is beige) so I put some detergent on it and and rub it a little.
Rince it off and even the shadow was gone *jumps around happily*
So there you go...if you need to get ink stain out from your favourite shirt...give nail polish remover a try...I can't vouch for the hairspray as I didn't try that method.
We do learn something new everyday =D
(No pics as I was too anxious to remove the stain and only thought about it after it was done)

Oh..and I'm also getting fat =( =( =(
It's all Eric's fault...supper is too good to resist! *sigh*
I've also spend quite a bit on office attire over the weekend...I do need more though.
I'm currently wearing clothes from donkey years ago...they still fit okay.
I still need shoes...shoes...shoes =P

On a side note...I'm hating service providers *growl*
They seriously get on my nerves.
One of them actually hung up on me....God..it made me so bloody pissed.
I lodged a complaint...serves her fat ass right for messing with me.
I'm not going to let her off so easy.
We're paying them a sizeable amount every month and this is the kind of crappy services they give their customers.
Gotta cool down...not worth stressing myself over such idiots.

On a happier note...Eric found a car he likes and we're in the midst of getting it.
Hopefully it'll be coming home soon with us *cross fingers*
And the office is filling up with new colleagues...it was so lonely sitting here in the department all by myself.
I'm glad to say I'm working with super nice people...they're friendly and fun but of course there are exceptions.
We just ignore those sourpuss.
It's a nice change of environment from working in a MNC company.
Less SOP, less stress, less politics and best of all, less people looking over your shoulders and trying to step all over you.
Of course there's pros and cons in any company...so far, I'm happy here.
Yalar...it's only my 3rd week...so we'll see how things goes in the next few months.
I just can't stand so much inefficiency and delays...sigh...just gotta learn to be more patient *breathe in, breathe out*

Crazy Busy

Haven't been blogging much lately as life has suddenly gotten pretty busy.
Don't have much time to do stuffs since I started work...now I miss my bumming days =(
I've also been falling asleep in front of the tv after work coz I'm exhausted...not really from work but lack of sleep since Eric gets back pretty late.
Once a workaholic...always a workaholic -_-

Since it's April's Fool day today...it suddenly occured to me that it has been exactly 1 year since I was admitted into Kiang Wu hospital.
Thank goodness I've been pretty healthy since then *cross fingers*

Oh...our water heater died on us last night when we're halfway through our shower -_-
One minute there's hot water...before we know it...we're having a cold shower.
It totally skipped my mind today to get someone to come and fix it...so I had another cold shower tonight *sigh*

So many things to do and there's just not enough hours in a day!!!
The library is still in a mess...I know...I know...I just didn't have enough time to get it done lar.
It's a chore to iron shirts for work...I can never seem to get it right =(
I don't even bother with pants...no one is going to notice okay.

We've yet to get a car for Eric...that's high on the priority list.
Oh...and I need to get a working bag so I can stuff documents in it when I visit sites and clients.
I need shoes too (darling...I do okay...all my working shoes are old)
Not too mention the mountain of bills =( =( =(

It's tiring just looking at the to-do list...I'll just sleep on it for now...can barely focus.
And I've also started to bring work home *slaps forehead*
Should really get started on it now...

...but I've been eating too much (sigh...putting on weight again) and sleeping too little!

Eric seems to want to eat everything in sight and I can't even remember being hungry since we stepped foot on Malaysian soil.
Had been out and about (eating!!!) and at the same time ferrying Eric to work while we sort out logistics issues.
I've also been busy with interviews for jobs and soon I'll not be bumming anymore....no more sleeping till lunch...no more FBing the whole day...no more shopping on weekdays....but it's all good.
I can't wait to work again =D
I know I sound kinda crazy and many of you would gladly knock me on the head with your laptop...but seriously, after being a bum for almost 2 years, the boredom is getting to me.
Before you say it...the baby will come when it comes okay...I'm not even 30 yet...still got time lar ;P

Talking about starting work...I should really get my lazy ass moving and sort out our closet.
I am in serious need of a HUGE walk in closet.
I have loads of clothes. So does Eric.
Lol...most of his clothes are still in bags we brought home from Macau =P
Stuffs are everywhere and they're getting in the way.
And more will be heading our way soon as friends and Eric's sis help bring more of our stuffs back!
OMG...where to put everything lar O_o

Aiyoh...and the library is still in a mess =(
My goal for the next 2 weeks would be to sort out our closet and library.
I'll do it even if it means not cooking or farming for a day *gulp*
I will do it...I will do it...I WILL DO IT!!!

Now...another countdown begins =D

Tchau Macau...

This will be our last day in Macau and tomorrow we'll be touching down in Malaysia Truly Asia =)
Yes, Eric and I are moving back to KL.
For good...that is...until Eric gets another career opportunity overseas.
This move home happened in a flash...just like that time when he told me he got a job in Macau.
Eric was offered a position with a new hotel opening in April smack right in the center of KL city.
I'm sure it's gonna take him some time to get use to the traffic madness after spending years in relatively jam-free Macau.

Boy...how time flies...we've been in Macau for slightly more than 2 years and this little enclave has become a 2nd home to me.
I'm going to miss the friends we made here...especially Nicolette my gossip and drinks buddy.
Definitely will miss the yummy siew yoke (roasted pork) rice from the aunty's shop down the street *drool*
And also the cheap massages, mani and pedi, food and shopping in Zhuhai.
Not forgetting my fav bubble milk tea =(
Totally appreciate the wonderful and affortable public transportation around the islands.
Oh...I will miss the beautiful casinos too especially their complimentary drinks and also the use of their well equiped and clean washrooms =P

It's bittersweet to leave Macau but the memories are going to come home with me to KL.
I'm happy that we're going home and we'll definitely be back in Macau to visit friends and lady luck =)

Jin Yuan Restaurant @ Charming Hotel, Zhuhai

A few nights back Eric and I were in Zhuhai to have dinner with his colleague.
Charming Hotel is located right outside the Gongbei Bordergate...once you get out of the China immigration, you'll see the hotel on the left.
Take the elevator up to Jin Yuan Restaurant.

Appetizer tasted like pig's stomach soup. The lotus roots has a nice bite to it and it's yummy.

First time I'm trying a corn drink. It's hot and tasted like well...corn. The texture is smooth and not too thick which is quite nice.

One fish for each person at the table...

...'cause the fish is only as big as my bowl

Mantis prawn with lots of fried garlic

Mui choy kau yuk (pork belly with mushy vege)

One crab per person too as it's only as big as my fist.

Not much meat but lots of eggs in the crab and it's yellow. Normally I don't eat crab eggs but this one is pretty yummy.

Looks like normal stir fry vege but the secret is...it's fried using pork oil =P This is how a healthy dish become super sinful.

Deep fried carrot cake stuffed with meat dessert which was too chewy for my liking.

Mango pudding with evaporated milk. Me likey mango =)

Deep fried durian ball turned out pretty good. The skin was oily but the durian filling has a creamy bitter after taste.

Recently, Eric's sister was in Macau and she was craving for some exotic dish.

We went searching for the shop and found it near St. Paul's Ruin.

It's a tiny shop with just a few tables and that's the chef in the one man kitchen.

This is snake meat soup =D

The taste of ginger overwhelmed my tastebuds and it made me wonder if it's to mask some weird smell of snake meat. The snake meat itself didn't taste weird ('cause all I could taste and smell was the ginger lar) but the texture was extremely rough and dry. Kinda like overnight chilled old chicken breast meat. If you're in Macau and feel like having some snake for snack time...this is the place.

Meet Goofy the toy Poodle. He's so cute isn't he? Goofy is Joe's doggy and we met him when Joe invited us over to his house for dinner last night.

So much food for just 5 people. I almost fell asleep on the couch after dinner...

Goofy joined Eric and I on the couch and took a liking to Eric's hand...*lick lick lick*

He even held on to Eric's thumb to to keep it steady...so cute <3

ME...that's who!

No idea why but I've been getting myself into stupid situations lately.
I've fell down twice on my knees in 1 week and now I have horrible bruises to show for it.
Maybe I've been gaining too much weight too rapidly and lost my balance.
I've got a bruise on my arm and I've got no idea how it came about.

The temperature in Macau is falling ridiculously fast.
It was mid 20s yesterday and now it's about 14 degrees.
What's up man?
I've already washed all our winter stuffs and packed them away =(

So anyways, I had to go to the shop to buy some stuffs and throw trash into the rubbish bin which is located bout 500m away (yes, no rubbish bin for our super duper old apartment ok).
But the only thing on my mind was the bubble milk tea I'm going to get from Donago.
God...I love the bubble milk tea in Macau...none in Malaysia could even come close to the ones we get here.
I went to the shop, bought what I needed, grabbed a cup of bubble milk tea and happily made my way home chewing on the bubbles.
When I reached home...I realized I forgot to take the trash out -_-
I'll just go tomorrow lar...I don't want to climb 4 flights of stairs and walk 500m(one way!) just to get rid of trash.
I'm just lazy and it's freaking cold outside okay.
My not so skinny ass prefers to be indoors.

Oh...and I've been encountering weirdos again....sigh
And of all places, in the casino.
You would've think that weirdos doesn't go to such places and they wouldn't try anything stupid 'cause there's camera everywhere except the washrooms.
Not too mention the amount of security guards keeping an eye on things on the floor.
Just my luck...I met two.
Can't a gal have peace playing the slot machine huh?
I was happily pressing the button hoping to hit the jackpot when these two dudes came up next to me and stood really really close.
I hate it when strangers or people I don't like do that...haven't they heard of such a thing as 'personal space'?
Immediately I felt damn uncomfortable and weirdo alert warning bells started going off in my head.
I've bumped into too many weirdos and I could spot them easily lar.

Anyways, they started to talk to me in Mandarin which I understood of course.
But I just stared at them trying to indicate to them I don't speak Mandarin and hopefully they leave me alone after that.
I find that this trick works with less persistent weirdos but obviously these two had the persistence genes in them.
They kept pestering me in Mandarin asking me how to play the slot.
Hello???!!! Just fucking feed money into the machine and press the button.
When I continued to ignore them, they started to speak to me in Cantonese.
Now they are curious about my nationality.
And then they actually asked me in English!
Lol...and I still ignored them.
Finally one of the slot attendance auntie saw my distress and came to me rescue.
I whispered to her in Cantonese that the two guys needed help with the slot and I tried to make my escape.
I then overheard the conversation between auntie and the weirdos as I was cashing out my money from the machine...

The conversation was in Mandarin.

Auntie : What you want?
Weirdos : We were asking her to teach us how to play this game.
Auntie : You don't have to ask her. I can teach you.
Weirdos : Where is she from?
Auntie : Come, I teach you how to play.
Weirdos : Where is she from?
Auntie : It's none of your business where she is from!!!
Weirdos : We want to know where she is from only mar...

Lol....I left right after that so I don't know what happened next.
That is the only time I appreciate how rude those aunties can be =P
Serves those weirdos right...but as I look back at the whole thing again, it's kinda funny.
I was in no danger of course since the casino was pretty packed and security is tight.
Just that I don't like weirdos.
I'm a friendly person...truly I am =)
Just don't approach me in such a creepy way...actually, I'm sure no gals would appreciate such a move.

Is it just me or do you gals attract weirdos too?
Maybe I just have a sign on my forehead inviting them to say 'Hi' -_-

Mezza9 @ Hyatt Macau

Macau is humid, misty and foggy at this moment.
Tiles in the house has water drops on them...don't be surprised if you find puddles of water on the floor.
Stairs are wet from the humidity.
Same for the windows.
No rain.
The problem with such humidity is MOLD!!!
They're starting their invasion =(

Anyways, had been busy these past few days.
Eating too much yummy food and piling on the weight.
And I've yet to lose the weight I gained in Sitiawan...sigh

Celebrated Chad's birthday at Mezza9 at the new Grand Hyatt yesterday.
The restaurant has a nice ambiance and it reminds me alot of Rossio.
We had a table tucked between the open kitchen which provided a clear view of chefs cooking.

Mezza9 serves Macanese, grill, sushi & sashimi with a cellar and bar too.

I was entranced with the shiny balls hanging above our table.

I was the only person on our table who wasn't a chef.

So obviously the topic of the night is about food...how the melon is oh so sweet and they had to find out where mezza9 got them from.

About the texture of sushi rice, the tuna sashimi, the sauce, the wine....you get the drift.

While the chefs went on and on about the food and kitchen...I was happily stuffing myself with food =P

The best thing about eating with chefs...you get to try all the yummy stuffs!

Oh...it doesn't hurt that they know the Mezza9 chefs too =)

Had a great time last night and it continues tonight.

Will be heading to Rossio for dinner which no doubt I'll stuff myself silly again.

Oh...how pampered my tummy is...

Golden Tiger Reunion Dinner

Was in Sitiawan for CNY and boy, was the weather hot hot hot.
I could sweat even while sitting under the fan in Grandma's house.
We were the first to arrive in Sitiawan and soon the whole family started to trickle in one by one till the house was full.

Somehow, the spirit of CNY only comes alive when everyone is squeezed into the house together while cookies and conversations flying in all directions!
It's the havoc of having little cousins running here and there...adults catching up on gossips... that somehow makes me appreciate having such a large family.
Various personalities all thrown together for a few days means many funny moments and drama =P
Okay lar...the havoc and craziness is great for a few days only.
I like my home to be peaceful and quiet.

The 1st visitor caused lots of excitement in Grandma's house....

Uncle John brought home a large roast piggy!!!

It's super yummilicious as the tasty meat is still warm and juicy with crunchy golden brown skin *drool*

As usual, the hype of CNY is the reunion dinner and everyone dressed up even in little Sitiawan.

Yeah...it boggles the mind but I dressed up too =P

Reunion dinner was at Bei King Restaurant's new building. Bei King is famous as they serve the best Foochow food in Sitiawan. We've been to many restaurants in the past but I still like Bei King the best =)

From the deco...most likely this place would be hosting lots of wedding banquets in the future.

The hall was very spacious and everything is new with good ventilation. I reckon it could accommodate more than 100 tables.

Sat at table No. 25. In the past, they would put our family name on the table cards and now that got replaced by a number =(

Before anything else, Melaine wanted to camwhore =P

I'm wearing my RM30+ dress...I know it's black okay...that's why I had my red spaghetti top on as well =)

There's this very peculiar habits of Sitiawanites...whenever there's a dinner banquet be it wedding, birthday etc...you'll find plastic bags on the table. That's for you to tapau(take away) the leftovers. It's a common practice, so no need to feel shy =P

Four season dish which looks kinda bland and unappetizing.

Surprisingly...it tasted pretty good thanks to the amount of yummy seafood used to prepare the dish. There's scallops, sea cucumber, sea asparagus, clams, fish and fatt choy (the black stringy moss)

Shark's fin soup topped with dried scallops.

I like the light texture of the soup as it's not starchy. Just wished that they didn't put sliced ham into the soup...it just doesn't go well together with the shark's fin.

Edwin - he's only 14 and so much taller than me!!!(btw...I'm wearing 4 inches heels), Me, Nic and Cheng Yan who is only 11 years old. Wonder what my aunts are feeding these boys =P

Braised pork and chicken with man tau

Cod fish steamed and fried. Gone in 5 mins. It was that yummy.

A signature Foochow dish. Fish maw in sweet and sour soup. It was a little spicy but I loved it. The soup was thick enough and the fish maw has a nice bite to it.

Desserts were longan with mango pudding and some pink kuih

These signs got people to stop in their tracks and looking baffled. When I first noticed the "pipe" and "shoes", I actually thought they had a smoking room and a shoe closet (no idea why I thought that people needed a place to store their shoes when they go for dinner in this place). In case you're still wondering...it's Male(pipe) and Female(shoes) signs for the washroom. Guess Sitiawanites are kinda creative when it comes to things like this.

Our family needed 4 table for the reunion dinner and that's without everyone in the family present.

Eric's in Macau, cousin Melissa is in Russia, aunt Belinda's family is in the USA and aunt Helena's family couldn't join in our non-Halal dinner.

We miss all of them...how I wish everyone could be there together.

Anyways, in our family, angpows are given out right after dinner when everybody gathers in Grandma's house.

Grandma will start the ball rolling and soon it gets a little chaotic as we go around hunting for my little(who were playing fire crackers) and not-so-little(you know who you are =P) cousins to give them their angpows.

I received a few angpows myself...Eric too =)

How fast the year goes by and how fast my cousins grow up.

If only time could slow down a little...I feel like I'm getting old really fast too!

Looking for Red

I know CNY is just days away.
Unfortunately, the only new garment I have bought is a red panty,
Yup, only one.
I tried getting a nice red top or dress.
Seems like the colour of choice this year is orange instead of red.
Orange is so not my colour...doesn't match my skin tone lar.
Relatives would also be wondering why an orange is hanging out in Grandma's house.
I want to eat oranges, not look like one -_-

Have been eating lots as well recently thanks to aunt Serene who gave us so many containers of cny goodies that she made herself.
I can't seem to stop munching while reading Nelson Mandela's memoirs.
I'm only about 1/3 through the book and some parts are boring.
But it definitely opened my eyes about South Africa.
The courage it took to fight for freedom and sacrifices that not many would make.
I bought the book for mum last year I think.
But I don't know why I chose to read it this past week.
Maybe there's a message for me from above...maybe it's a sign.
I really think it is.

I'm again in a stage of imbalance.
Though now I know what to expect for the next few months, it has left me feeling a little overwhelmed.
So many things to think about...decisions...decisions...decisions.
I'm not sure what are my expectations anymore, which is bothering me more than it should actually.
I'm feeling the pressure to achieve which is not something new but it's getting on my nerve.
Just let me be...I am who I am.

Maybe I should snack on some dessert to sweetened things up a little.

Klang Wedding and Bak Kut Teh

Yesterday was a super early day for us gals.
Got up before 6am O_O...haven't done that since OBC days.
Joverse stayed over at my house so both of us could make our way to Klang together gether la.
Klang is still a very foreign place to me so we made arrangements to meet Regina and trailed her to Shey Imm's house =)
No point trying to be smart aleck and get lost in Klang at an ungodly hour isn't it?
We got there safe and sound and the bride was just about ready....so obviously must camwhore lar before the bridegroom arrive with the angpows =P

After much "hardship" and lots of angpows...Lai managed to get his bride from the clutches of her "chee muis". Congratulations you two!

Ahem...Charlie's Angels in Klang...this is Regina, Yann Mei and me camwhoring again by the road. Me trying to show my artistic side with the camera...not bad right? =P

After Shey Imm left with Lai for Johor...I can't wait to go breakfast.

I was so hungry and also sleepy.

So Regina took us for some Klang bak kut teh.

Since in Klang already...sure must have some bak kut teh lar.

This bak kut teh place was recommended to Regina by her friend.

It's located at the back of the Klang Hokkien Association which was said to be pretty famous.

Since it was a first visit for all 3 of us...we kinda had a little trouble finding the place.

It's quite secluded okay.

Luckily there's an arrow at a signboard at the association's entrance pointing the way.

See....I didn't bluff...secluded right? Who would've guessed there's a restaurant at the back lorong?

Yeoh's Bah Kut Teh...only open for business during breakfast and lunch. Closed on Monday and got website somemore =D

Here, you're given a packet of tea leaves and a teapot with a few little teacups to brew your own Chinese tea. There are kettles with boiling water stationed nearby just for this purpose so it's quite dangerous if you're bringing kids to this place.

Yau char kuai came first and the portion so small leh.

Our pot of bah kut teh...looks yummy doesn't it? Luckily the bak kut teh soup got colour and not those clear type. Whenever I see clear bak kut teh, it makes me feel kinda cheated...it's as if they never put enough herbs and ingredients mar.

We also ordered some organic golden needle mushrooms. Damn little also lor =(

What surprised me the most was the fact that they have a branch in Hong Kong.

Probably yes if I'm in the area.

But I won't be driving there all the way from Subang just for it.

It's not that yummilicious to make the journey.

Drooping

After days of cleaning and rearranging the library (which is still not completed yet!) and then a busy weekend, I now resemble a drooping flower (I droop very prettily one okay)

Saturday was spent going around Klang with Yann Mei and Regina.
Thankfully we made it to Regina's house without much drama except to miss the turning into her taman coz' the road was missing it's name sign *faints*

We busybodied a little in Regina's home and then she took us to AEON Bukit Tinggi which was pretty impressive as it has many of the popular retail outlets and lots of food options.
Walked around alot and my feet was kinda killing me but we were on a mission.
Gotta get a gift for Shey Imm as we're headed to her house later somewhere in Klang for dinner.
After alot of window shopping...erm...for ourselves...finally decided on a gift and off we went for yumcha.
Remember my feet?
Yeah..it needed rest =P

Shey Imm was having her Chinese bachelorette dinner and there were more than 200+ people that night.
We managed to get a table and the gossiping didn't stop till we had to leave!
Regina then took me and Yann Mei for a drive to i-City to look at some lights display since both of us obviously doesn't venture into that area very often.
It was definitely a fun day out with the gals.
We talked and laughed so much the whole day...I ended up too tired to sleep.
Finally slept at around 4am -_-

And had to wake up at 9am the next morning.
I volunteered to help out with Aunt Serene and Mum's little project of making "kuih kapit" (love letters).
Using charcoals and it was bloody hard work I tell you!
I wouldn't say it was a failure as we managed to make some crunchy kuih kapit...but QC was kinda lax =P
After hours of sweat and aching arms...only managed to produce 2 big biscuit containers!
I was in charged of fanning the charcoal so that productivity increases and now my arms feel like they're dropping of...long time never use my upper arm muscles since stopping bootcamp =(

Brain not really working right now...so that's it for now.

Spring Cleaning the Mini Library

Yup...I started cleaning.
Household chores are so not my thing *sigh*
But it had to be done...and I'm proud of myself.
I survived, for now.
We have so much stuffs in there...some of it I never knew we had which is a nice surprise.
Found lots of stuffs that brought me back to the past...bringing back lots of long lost memories.

Also hidden in boxes are soft toys and my collection of McD's Winnie the Pooh and also the McD's Bears.
It was all the crazed back in those days okay.
Now I don't know what to do with them -_-
I have this crazy idea to build small standing shelf to put the small bears.
The bears are couple dressed in costumes...really nice leh.
But where to go buy the stuffs for such a small DIY project lar.
This reminds me of my "kerja kayu" back in highschool.
Wonder where it has disappeared to.
We made a jewellery box if I'm not mistaken and even sew a pink cover for it.
I don't remember throwing my handmade box away...maybe mum did.
Hmm...

Okay...went off topic again.
I then found my lucky trolls =)
Mum bought them for me when I got 7A's in my PMR exams.
No idea why I asked for trolls as presents...now they badly need a bath...geez.
That is also when I got an allergy attack for the 1st time in my life.
To celebrate my PMR results, Mum took me for dinner at Victoria Station where I got to order a live lobster as my reward.
The waiter brought the lobster out to say "Hi" before it went into the cooking pot.
It was the yummiest lobster I've ever eaten in my 15 years on Earth!
Cost a bomb back then and it gave me hives -_-
See what I mean about bringing back memories?

Going back even further...I found my 'autograph" books =)
Even as far back as primary school.
I'm sure you 80's babies will remember having one and also scribbling in your friends!
OMG...the things we have in our naive innocent minds back then are hilarious.
You know...there are categories like "Friends", "Best Friends", "Best Best Friends" and the cutest one "Dream girl/boy" =P
For the Dream girl/boy category...no names are revealed BUT there are clues so you can try to guess.
For example : Dream gal/boy = _ _ _ _ _
But normally everyone already know who it is lar ;P

Also in boxes are my old sticker books.
All furry, shiny, glow-in-the-dark (which still glows btw), transparent and scratch-to-smell (no smell already lar) stickers of all sizes are still there.
So are my small collection of stamps =D

I'm still not done with the library...and I've been at it for a few days.
I keep finding stuffs that makes me stop and reminiscent of the good ol' days.
Hope to get it done by next week so I can move on to spring cleaning my room.
It's a bigger mess than the library but at least there'll be less trip down memory lane.

It's gonna be a busy weekend and I can't wait to meet up with friends I haven't seen for a while =D

It's Raining

As I type this...it's raining cats and dogs outside.
It was so hot and stuffy earlier so the rain is a much welcomed sight.
Haven't been feeling well since I got home and blamed it on the changed of weather from cold Macau to crazy hot KL.
And finally, I fell super sick yesterday and almost passed out while driving home after a yumcha session.
Before anyone start telling me I should've stayed home instead of having a yumcha session...well...I was feeling not too bad when I left the house.
And Terence was in town mar.
It only got like 100 times worst half way through supper =(
On the way back, I wasn't sure whether to drive slow and suffer longer or drive fast and get home to my bed!!!

Wanted to meet up with OBC gang at the mamak this morning but really cannot make it lar =(
Didn't wanna end up in a ditch somewhere between Putra Heights and Padang Astaka.
And also I didn't wanna sabotage the Astaka Warriors by accidentally passing them the virus that's been bugging me.
Their legs should be running...not their noses!!!
But I'm sure the Astaka Warriors are gonna kick ass tomorrow at the OBC inter platoon event =P

Mum has been busy with CNY stuffs.
And I should really start spring cleaning my room.
Gonna get rid of some clothes and send it for donation.
Reusable stuffs for recycling as gifts =P (Sorry to those who has bdays coming up!)
Rearrange my closet, night table, vanity table and the library (which unfortunately looks more like a storeroom now)
Sell or donate some of my books...need space in the library la.
Decide what to do with all the cds, vcds and dvds that are all over the house (prob get a box and stuff it into the cabinet in the tv room =P)
Suddenly I remembered my shoes.
I love shoes...and have quite a few of them ;P
Have to sort those out as well...

Btw, I love my new haircut.
It's short and kinda sexy (when it was styled by the hairstylist la) =P
Got up this morning and found a mushroom on my head instead O_o
So not the get-out-of-bed sexiness I was hoping for...but I'm the only one who's looking at it anyway -_-
Nothing I can't fix with a comb and hairblower...so I'm still loving it =)

Unexpected

One day it's black and then all of a sudden, the colours started appearing again.
One by one, they give me hope.
That everything will be okay.
All that was needed was a little faith and trust that things will work out.
That if it's meant to be, then it is.

Life is full of bumps and potholes.
No matter how you try to avoid them, eventually one will get you.
As they say, it doesn't matter if you fall, what's important is that you get up again.
Bruises will fade eventually, but the lesson better be learnt.

Hiatus

Yeah...I know I haven't been blogging much lately.
Totally lost my mojo.
The truth is, I'm going through some major changes in my life.
Said goodbye to 2009 and stepped into 2010 with uncertainties.
So much uncertainties that I can't see beyond a few months from now.

I realized that in life, change is inevitable.
Situation change. People change.
How do I embrace a change which I didn't see coming?
Maybe I've been going through life with my eyes half closed.
Naive and stumbling along.
Now it's time to wake up and face the future head on.

There is no where to hide. Even when I'm scared.
You can't always get what you want and that's life.
I've excepted the fact that there's alot of stuffs that's beyond my control so I've been saying the Serenity Prayer every night.

I know it's kinda gloomy for my first post of the year.
I wish things were different but I still believe everything happens for a reason.
Fate can be cruel but life's a bitch too.

I might not be updating very often from now on as I don't want my blog to be filled with my emo ramblings.
It'll be too depressing.
And I can't seem to describe the feelings that's cursing through me.

When the time comes,

Lemons

I like chocolates.
But what do you do when life throws you a lemon?
Lemon with sour juices and bitter skin.
What can you do but take it all while hoping that you can get rid of it soon and someone would throw you a peice of chocolate instead.
The lemon will make you miserable...questioning yourself. Questioning God. Questioning everything. Doubting.
How much can you take before you breakdown?
When would you decide that you had enough lemons and start collecting chocolates again?
Who would give you chocolates in the future?
Do you deserve chocolates?
I know everyone has had their fair share of lemons in their life.
I just want my box of chocolate back...

Out of the dark

Back in the land of casinos and it's been kinda drama from KL till we got here.
Was in LCCT damn super early and spent like 5 hours roaming the little airport.
Loaded up on unnecesary calories as there's nothing else to do but to eat, drink and surf the web.

Boarded the plane and it was packed with irritating people.
I seriously wanted to smack the guy sitting behind me as he kept kicking my seat.
Then we sat in the stationary plane for almost ONE freaking hour due to heavy rain and thunder.
Yeah...imagine...stucked in a small plane that is not moving and then this stupid idiot behind me likes to kick.
Lovely start to our journey -_-
Erm...ate again in the plane...nothing to do mar.
Then slept a little bit...no thanks to Ronaldo wannabe behind me.

So...drama in KL and plane over...welcome to drama in Macau.
Eric gotta work as there's VIP dining in his restaurant.
So we made our way home ourselves.
We had one huge luggage weighing about 20kgs, 2 small hand carry weighing 13kgs and then 2 handbags.
And we had to drag it all up to our apartment at the 4th floor!
No elevator okay....only fucking stairs.
I tribute my survival of the stairs+bags to bootcamp.
What little muscles I managed to build in the last 2 months did wonders =)

Drama didn't end there.
Our room light was dead.
Couldn't unpack my stuffs and had to make do with groping around.
Before we could get it fix, the whole apartment went dead.
Yup...something went wrong somewhere and we ended up with no electricity.
And then we tried to get an electrician to fix it.
He didn't show up when he said he would.
I showered with candle light.
Eric reminded me that I should be grateful that our water heater uses gas instead of electricity (a fact that I was bitching about constantly) and I now shall not complain anymore.

Thank goodness we got everything fixed today so I'm finally connected to the virtual world.
Was very deprieved.

Original Bootcamp Malaysia : m2d11

And it's my last day of bootcamp for November.

Today was a wee bit better than Tuesday but still it was hardcore.
We had to sprint about six steps and drop to the ground to complete an exercise (either push ups, sit ups, squat jumps, grunts) then repeat the same for about 10 stations.
We went round and round until it was time to stop.

Anyways, when Corporal Dharmin(I'm not sure how his name is spelt) was explaining what we had to do at the stations...Corp Jon was showing the moves to the platoon...and that's when he did his famous butterfly/dolphin/leaf/caterpillar(added today) dive to the ground.
Everyone was entranced okay.
Not many people can float to the ground to do a push up =P

Then Corp Jon had to show us a squat jump.
When he finished...it looked more like a starry squat jump!
Imagine a star fish jumping with arms and legs at the sides.
It was my turn to do the circuit and I reached where Corp Jon was stationed...
I got ready to do my starry squat jump and suddenly I heard him say "Show me your Sailormoon jump" O_O

For those who doesn't know Sailor Moon...

Sailor Moon is the yellow haired gal on the left with the super long twin ponytails at the sides of her head. For the jump...can refer to the gal in the middle =)

I burst out laughing as it was so unexpected...then I jumped and went "wheeee..."
Us gals definitely look quite cute doing a Sailormoon lar...then suddenly I spotted the Pakcik in front of me =P
Wonder if Corp Jon made him to do a Sailormoon too!
It was a happy starry squat jump for about 2-3 stations...then I wasn't so happy about it anymore.

Damn tiring to jump like that okay -_-

Anyways, we ended up in mamak after that.
Many of them left early but Bev and I stayed back to wait for Suanie as she was coming to join us.
Poor gal wasn't at bootcamp today as she's down with the flu.
So we were updating Suanie with the latest gossips/happenings of bootcamp and about the new trainee trainers who were helping out today.

Topic was about the guy trainee and then Suanie asked..."Is he a PT?"
Bev answered "No lar...he's not pretty at all k"
Me and Suanie stared at her..."PT...personal trainer lar"
Bev..."Ohhhhhh...."

Lol...don't know what's on Bev's mind =P

On the drive home, I was thinking how time flies...can't believe I managed to stick with bootcamp for 2 freaking months.
And I'm still alive =)

After 2 months, I feel that I'm healthier and fitter.
I don't feel so sluggish and lethargic anymore which is good.
Definitely stronger as well as my push ups are getting better and grunts doesn't seem so intimidating anymore (though I still hate it).

I love my bootcamp buddies, both trainers and recruits.
Bootcamp wouldn't be the same without them.
We shared lots of tears, laughters, pains, grunts and mud together.
If stinky mud doesn't bring people closer together...I don't know what will =P
No regrets in joining bootcamp (okay lar...maybe a itsy bitsy lil bit when I look in the mirror and spots are glaring back at me...erm...so I'm avoiding mirrors)

And it ain't getting any easier!

After almost 2 months of bootcamp, one would think that I'll like running a little more than when I started.
Unfortunately, that didn't happen.

Running is still a pain in my cute ass.
Today we did LOTS of running...too much till I almost gave up and drop dead in the middle of the 'cowdung' padang.
We each got a partner and Suanie was mine, one of us had to run and the other had to do a series of exercises while waiting for the runner to get back.
Then we switch.
The thing is...we try to help one another by running slower (okay..I admit...damn tired until cannot run fast lar) but then...I always find one of the trainers running next to me =(
And they'll encourage me to run faster by going...

"Come on Tracy...pick up the pace"
"Catch up with her (the person running in front of me)"
"Sprint to the end!"
"You can do this...keep going"
"Just a little more (even when I still have half the distance to go!)"

and the best of all...

"She's not that far in front of you...catch up to her!"
Walaueh...that was said to the person running behind me...made me damn stress man.
So obviously I had to run faster lar...takkan just let another Ranger(cannot be Seals or Deltas la) overtake me like that.
Yalar...I know...so kiasu =P
But then at mamak as I was eating my thosai...I started to wonder if there really was someone running behind me at all?
I can't even recall which trainer said it...maybe he was just messing with my head =(
Damn...it was seriously a mental game this morning.
And the gloomy weather didn't help one bit.

All this running was done in 3 rounds of 10 minutes each.
Since we have a partner and assuming we are at the same level of fitness, that means each of us ran about 5 minutes and did exercises for the other 5 minutes.
After the first round, I wanted to just fall to the ground and never get up again.

But then we had to go for round 2.
I was struggling real bad...breathing was in gasps and I probably sounded like I'm taking my last breath.
We were damn happy when Sarge said to take a 2 minutes(yippee!) water break and everyone thought it was warm down after that.

God forbid...we went for round 3 =(
Needless to say...everyone was looking kinda pale on the padang except for our wonderful trainers and a few hardcore Deltas.

Everyone did kinda looked half dead after today's training and no one was complaining about lack of intensity.
Even the final "hooyah" was without it's usual oomph.
Those who were saying training was easy recently got their wish...and almost KO the rest of us in the process.

Anyways...I wanna bitch about something someone said to me at mamak which got on my nerves.
This question was directed at me when this person found out I've been bumming for many moons now.
I've been asked this question many times before in many forms.
I've heard it all.
What made you think you'll be the first one to come up with such an original question?
And what made you think I would actually answer your question truthfully?

And we did it in Padang Merbuk in KL.
Don't ask me where it is located exactly...all I know is it's near the Tugu Negara and bird park.
Since I would obviously not be able to get there without losing my way, I carpooled with Suanie.
It's her bright little idea to go and join KL Bravo =)
We have an official and unofficial reason for crashing into KL Bravo's session today.
Took advantage of it just because we can lar...actually...it's Bring-a-Friend Day so it's no biggie =P

Our official reason and we stand by it is...due to Suanie being back in her hometown this weekend and would miss tomorrow's session while Bev and I missed(thank God!) yesterday's "stinky cow dung" training in Astaka...so we decided to make up for it in Merbuk instead.

As for the unofficial reason...let's just say we weren't disappointed!!! ;P

Anyways...I got up damn early at 5am today and made my way to Centre Point's McD to meet up with the gals at 6am.
Bootcamp only starts at 7am but according to Suanie, it takes bout 40minutes to get there on normal traffic.
Since we didn't want to be late and get grunts, leaving at 6am sounds good enough.
Lo and behold...we got there in less than 15 minutes -_-

Still damn dark when we got there okay...most of the cars should be KL Alpha's.

Spotted a rope at the bootcamp's van..me no likey rope =(

KL Alpha's in the padang...they're there lar...just too dark to see them!

We got there so early and nothing to do so we camwhore abit =P

We went to a Malay stall nearby for breakfast...nasi lemak with cockles, egg and fried chicken =D

I'm never going to Padang Merbuk again for bootcamp.

There's mud and puddles of dirty water EVERYWHERE!

And the mud is so thick....our whole shoe will sink in it.

Then we have the trouble of pulling our feet out of the mud as it kinda suck on the shoe...once you get your feet back, shoes are covered in mud.

I know lar...my shoes are the same colour as the mud but it's still damn disgusting lar.

And the mud stinks really really really bad.

Today we did a circuit where we had to wave a rope, then jumping jacks, push and pull rifle and finally squats with rope.

Bad enough the rifles were coated with smelly mud and then we had to bring it so close to our face...it's also damn tiring man.

I swear the rifles feel heavier...did the trainers add weight to it or is the mud a culprit?

Honestly, rope and mud is a bloody bad combination.

For the rope squats, we had to drape this freaking huge rope on our shoulders and do squats.

And the rope stinks super bad (worst than the rifles!)...it made me gag like crazy.

I almost puke because of it too =(

Muddy rope is not something I want to experience ever again.

So erm...Astaka it is and we're never going to complaint about the mud there ever again.

A salute to the KL platoon for putting up with such smelly muddy conditions all the time.

Who knows...maybe they think it smells good? =P

"Si Lai" to the max

In case anyone is wondering..."si lai" refers to 'housewive aunty' in Cantonese.

I'm almost a fullfledge "si lai" minus the aunty part =P

Finally went to Sunway Pyramid today to get a whole load of stuffs on my list.
Jusco is having member's sale so it's a good bargain hunting time, especially since it's pharmacy is giving 15% off to members.
And the bucket load of what I needed are to be found in pharmacies anyway.

I love shopping for beauty and health stuffs in Pyramid for one reason, all the major pharmacies are located close to each other and on the same floor somemore!

Damn convenient for price comparison!

So first, we went to Caring 'cause they normally have some really good bargains for supplements and contact lens solutions. Can get Bonuslink points also =)
Next up was Jusco just to have a look. I've no doubt they would be the best grab with 15% off everything.
Watson's and Guardian have little gems here and there so bought whatever was cheapest among all the pharmacies.
Then we headed back to Jusco to get everything else.
I've already said I'm damn si lai =P

And being si lai saves lots of money in the long run okay.

An example of how my si lainess help save almost RM20 for a bottle of vitamin C...
There's this brand of vit C that we've been taking for years now...I like it because it's the slow release kind.

Anyways, the price had always been approx. RM90+-/bottle depending where you go.

Among Caring(whom we always bought it from), Guardian(is having a RM10 discount for a bottle), Watson's(no discount) and Jusco pharmacy, Jusco was still the cheapest at RM82.90.
And that is BEFORE the 15% discount!!!
So...you can do the math yourself.

Obviously it was a good buy lar...and I'm super happy with my effort today *pat on the back*

Little things like this brings a smile to my face 'cause it sux when you feel like you've been con by retailers.

I hate it when I buy something which I thought was a good deal to find it selling cheaper just a few doors away.
Even a few dollars cheaper also makes me feel cheated lar =P
But these things happen irregardless which country you're in.
Have encountered the same thing everywhere.
Just gotta be smart when buying something...especially when you need to bargain for it.
And I HATE bargaining. It's so fucking tiring.

Not that I'm not good at it, shopping in China will make you a bargain expert, but it's super annoying that you have to bargain non-stop.

Can die okay.

Aiyoh...I'm going off topic again.
Back to today's outing in Pyramid.
Again...we went to try out this little cafe looking place because of Mum.
Apparently her friend told her the laksa is to-die-for.
And I almost did...literally.

Toast Box is located at the Marrakesh if I'm not wrong next to a bakery which name I can't recall. Just look for Kenny Rogers and you'll find it...but don't waste your energy lar.

They have this set promo thingy that for RM7.50, you can have a laksa, mee siam or nasi lemak special with a glass of ice lemon tea.

It was 1pm...obviously it's lunch hour...and they ran out of chicken for the nasi lemak -_-
Cannot cook more is it?
Vomits blood.
So we decided on laksa ('cause it's the reason we're there in the 1st place!) and mee siam (as if got any other choice).

The supposedly awesome laksa.

And it came with lou shi fun (mouse noodles) instead of normal laksa noodles. It was a letdown bigtime. The serving was so small and lack ingredients...doubt a child would be full after eating one bowl. Not to mention the soup was kinda tasteless to me. Not worth it at all.

My mee siam which was a bigger disappointment. It was sourish and frankly, tasted weird. First time I'm having such mee siam and only managed to eat half of it with Mum's help.

I'm never going back to Toast Box...even for plain harmless toast.

And never again trusting Mum's friend for food recommendation.

Anyways, I'm still happy with our loot today even with the unfortunate lunch adventure.

My face is still swollen and I'm not feeling too good.

Hope I'm not falling sick...there's bootcamp tomorrow and I wanna go mamak after that to gossip =P

Oh..and I almost forgot...my sweet pretty face is in a magazine!

Drops from the sky

It's been raining almost everyday lately with the temperature dropping significantly.
It made me lazier than usual so most of the time I'm curled up at home reading.
I've finally finished reading Eragon, Eldest and Brisingr.
The three books of the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini.
Book 4 is not out yet so for now...I'm done.
Glad I could finish it before leaving for Macau.
And now it left me with a desire for a Dragon of my own =)

I've got so many things to do before leaving and yet I'm procrastinating.
It's the weather I tell you...so hard to leave my warm and comfy bed.
Only God knows how much effort it took to get my butt to Bootcamp this week...I was so tempted to sleep in today.
Even on non-bootcamp days, I've been getting up at 7am...automatically okay...without the alarm -_-
Sucks big time.
But thankfully I've always manage to go back to sleep =P

For the past week, besides hibernating like a cute little bear at home, I've also been eating like one.
I get hungry so fast and no amount of food seems to be enough.
It was kinda scary as the urge to eat was there all the time.
Corp Faizal mentioned it could be hormones that's causing me to think I'm hungry even when I'm not.
I'm happy to report that my appetite has gone back to normal.
No more insatiable cravings for food.
Maybe now I can shed a little weight before heading to Macau where I'm sure to be piling it all back on again.
It's getting very cold in Macau and will be even colder when I get there.
So not looking forward to the cold...but it should make exercising less tedious(if I actually do it)...no sweat mar.
I can't wait to see Eric...I've been missing him heaps.
It's so hard being apart like this and I feel that it's harder on me than him.
Can't help being such an emo creature...not to mention I crave physical contact.
My wait will be over soon....if only time will fly faster!

I only hope my face will not bruise too badly from my stupidity today.
Got back from bootcamp and I went to get my stuffs out of the car.
Opened the car door and hit my face =(
Thankfully it missed my eye...I hit the area just below my left eye near my nose.
Okay...luckily I didn't break my nose either.
It's super painful and I've been rubbing it tenderly in hopes that I won't get a horrible blue-black bruise tomorrow.
It's bad enough that my face had broken out with angry red acne since I started Bootcamp =(
Mum has been nagging about how I've destroyed my skin for Bootcamp *sigh*
It's the price I had to pay to get healthier, fitter and hangout with my friends.
I'm trying to get my skin back to how it was before...but it's not easy since I'm still doing Bootcamp 3 times a week.
The padang is very dirty lar.
Even facials are in vain...the beautician asked me to consider quitting Bootcamp to save my face from further damage.
So obviously I've chosen Bootcamp over my vanity...just barely =P

I've also been neglecting my cross stitching since starting bootcamp.
Wish I could work on it but it seems so daunting 'cause I don't have the concentration needed.
Working on a cross stitch while feeling tired is asking for trouble.
Chances are...I'll count wrongly or use the wrong colour which would mean more time spent on rectifying the mistake.
Better to avoid stressing myself out...so now it's sitting in my closet while I consider whether to bring it to Macau.(it's actually quite bulky and heavy)
I plan to knit when I'm there so no time for cross stitching.
In between that I want to workout to maintain my fitness level...then catch up on all my fav tv series that I miss so much.
Come to think of it...I'll just knit and watch the shows at the same time =P

I have slightly more than a week to get everything done in KL.
Gotta do some shopping and meet up with some friends if I can.
Oh...time is flying...

This Is It

Yup, it definitely was.
Took Mum to watch Michael Jackson's This Is It movie today and I don't care what others say, it was wonderful and sad at the same time.

All through the movie, I can't help marvelling at MJ.
He danced and sang like it was effortless.
Granted, he has a few sizzling hot young male dancers all around him but MJ was still the greatest.
I can't help being amazed at how detailed MJ was to made sure everything was perfect for his fans.
And what was planned for Smooth Criminal was just too cool....especially the part where the camera flew over the city and MJ with crew made a smooth entrance.
I was awed.

I've heard many people commenting that This Is It was boring.
But to me, it gave us a rare opportunity to see MJ working hard behind the scenes...and how he has a sense of humour.
I believe, to appreciate This Is It, one needs a good dose of imagination.
Imagine how it would look like on it's stage in London.
Imagine MJ and crew in full costume.
Imagine the crowd, the fans, the energy, the screams, the tears.
Imagine the emotions to be where the magic is happening.
One can't begin to know how it feels like to be in an MJ concert if you've never been to one.
When I was in the cinema today, I felt the same rush of emotions that washed over me while I was screaming like crazy(yup, even while the stage was blackout for costume change) for MJ during his 1996 HIStory World tour in Kuala Lumpur.
At one point during the movie, the director goes "Hold for applause...." and it brings a smile to my face.
Well...the applause and screaming during MJ's concert never stops =P

Needless to say, there were lots of scenes where MJ was showing off his famous crotch grabbing move.
And two Aunties sitting behind us giggles everytime he does it.
The more crotch grabbing action on the big screen....the more excited they got!
The funniest part was when MJ was on stage performing solo a slow-motion crotch grabbing and his dancers were watching him below the stage while imitating the crotch move.
And the Aunties got super excited and loudly exclaimed "That guy touch so hard hor hehehehe...Michael do so smooth*giggles*"
Aunties in Malaysia seemed to be crotch grabbing expert all of a sudden ;P

Actually, when MJ does the crotch thingy, it's like a work of art.
Just like moonwalk.
But if a 50 years old uncle go grab his crotch in front of me on the street...I'll whack him on the head(doesn't matter with one) with my handbag!!!
Yup...only MJ at 50 can make it look so cool ;P

No one can deny MJ was a genious.
It's such a tragedy that he couldn't show us the true glory of his last concert.
It would've blown everyone away, MJ style.
There is only one Michael Jackson and this is it.

Broga Hill @ Semenyih, Selangor

Broga Hill is no secret anymore.
Many has made the climb to it's peak and took beautiful pictures.
We wanted to catch the sunrise but unfortunately, a few minutes after we started our journey up the hill, the sky started to light up and we don't even need our torchlights anymore.
I was pretty paranoid about being attacked by mosquitoes during the hike as I sometimes develop horrible allergies to their bites.
We put on lots of mosquito repellant right before heading into the jungle of lalang.

Thankfully, not many mosquitoes were in sight and no one complaint of being attacked by bloodsuckers.
Maybe we were just lucky that the mosquitoes left us alone =)
Which reminds me...I got a free Iced Milo from McD's when tapauing burger for Suanie as we foresee being hungry after reaching the peak.
Should've guessed that things could only get better after that for the trip =)

It's my first time hiking and I'm not sure what I expected of it actually.
I only know it's not going to be easy.
The trail was uneven and narrow. Some parts were pretty steep too.
I got scared many times as it's so easy to slip and just fall into the ravine just next to the trail.
Being a super clumsy person doesn't help much either.
(I constantly trip when walking on flat ground wearing flat shoes -_-)
So it took me quite a long time to actually reach the lower peak.
The Deltas were probably sprinting and I bet they got bored of watching the lalang while waiting for the rest of us to get up there =P

Lonely path I took on the way down...

The climb down was even scarier than going up.

I slipped a few times and was scared half to death as I was all alone.

Those in front of me went out of sight as they were so fast on their feet.

Those behind me got held up for one reason or another.

I kept thinking if I fall into the ravine, no one will know where and when I disappeared =(

At one point..I looked back and shouted "SUANIE!!!!" 'cause I was feeling lonely walking alone surrounded by lalang and trees.

I didn't hear any reply from her so I kept going as I assumed she was to far back to hear me.

Apparently she did hear me shout and answered =P

I realized that I don't fancy hiking.

It's only fun because of the people I'm with.

Without any doubt, we are a bunch of very noisy people...even while hiking =P

Hiking it's not easy at all, it takes alot of strength and my legs are still aching from Broga.

Even bootcamp is easier than hiking!

And I've been told Broga is easy O_o

I think I went with a group of Supermen and Superwomen =)

If you're planning to visit Broga Hill, advisable to go early as it gets pretty hot up there when the sun is up.

I did enjoy myself eventhough the day started with lots of drama.

I'm just glad it ended on a happy note.

But I'm still going to think ~~twice~~ three times if anyone ever suggest I go hiking again.

Can we go to the beach instead?

Am so tired today as I didn't get a good night's sleep.
Went to bootcamp anyway...and it's another day in the mud.

We had to run around in circles marked by cones and flip 4 tyres placed at intervals.
Each time we reach an empty tyre, gotta flip it 3 times.
It must also not be abandoned for more than 5 seconds.
Cheating will result in time being added.
How to cheat?
Well...it's any delay in flipping, any walking, any stopping or any running inside the cones.
We got lots of time added okay...no thanks to a particular recruit who keeps running inside the cones right in front of the trainer -_-
They should've learnt the art of cheating smartly by now *sigh*

Tyre flipping has become somewhat easier.
Not sure if I've gotten stronger or it's just a case of mind over matter.
It was muddy man...have to be smart to avoid places where the tyres make mud splashes.
Ain't a pretty sight to be covered in mud during bootcamp.

Mamak session was drama to the max lar.
Not going to elaborate as I'm too tired to bitch about the lack of customer service again.
Btw...it's Ganesh.
Don't know why people insist of going there at all.

Suanie, Bev, Faizal and I then lepak in Ali Berkat(yup, we moved mamak) until it was about 1.30pm. And the pic above shows how many drinks the 4 of us had =P
It's a record for after bootcamp mamak session man.

I'm so tired after today's session....well, the truth is, every session is tiring lar.
Tomorrow is the hike up Broga Hill and I gotta get my butt up at 3.45am so I could meet up with the convoi.

Warning : Long bitchy post ahead...

Mum has been pestering to try out this new Thai restaurant in Taipan called Restoran Phad Thai located on the same row as Sing Kong restaurant facing the multi storey carpark.
I decided to take her there tonight for dinner.
Regret it kau-kau man.
Never again will I step my dainty foot in this restaurant.

The crappy Phad Thai restaurant located a few shops away from Sing Kong.

We sat down and the waiter already start to piss me off.

He gave us the menu and stood next to our table....waiting (for the cows to come home maybe)

It irritates me when they just stand there and watch you go through the menu.

Nothing better to do is it?

Good etiquette would be to give the customer a few minutes to decide what they want to order.

Not standing there like an idiot.

Anyways, that was just a small part that pisses me off.

Ordered pandan chicken, tom yum kung, phad thai noodles & coconut.

And we waited...and waited...while they serve a table (lets call this table B) that came after us.

The lady at table B then started digging into the tom yum and complaining to her husband "Why no mee one?"

She then complaint to the waitress about the lack of noodles.

As for me, I got pissed and demanded where are our drinks?

How can they serve table B and not us?

A waitress then came and demanded rudely "What you order?"

I stare cock at her and said "You go and check lar"

Fuck man..want me to do her job is it?

You know what, the stupid waiter wrote the wrong table number on our order.

So they served my coconut and tom yum to table B.

Fine. Under normal circumstances, if they would have just apologize nicely with a smile and go get my order, I'll be okay.

But noooooo...this guy was testing my patience to the limit.

Guess what he did?

He went to table B, took the bowl of molested tom yum with his thumb dipping into the soup and placed it in front of me.

The same tom yum that the lady at table B dug around in.

Bloody hell...he somemore has the cheek to say "She didn't eat it what. It was on the table only"

WTF???

Expect me to happily eat a dish that some stranger has already dug through looking for noodles?

I ask him is he crazy or what?

He kept repeating that the tom yum was on the table and the lady didn't eat it.

And the stupid busybody lady chimed in "I didn't it eat yet"

As if it makes a difference to me lar whether she ate it or not.

Why don't she let me dig through her food and then she eats it?

I bet it'll taste better with my saliva.

This is not just a matter of principle, it's also about hygiene lar.

Some people should just mind their own business and fuck off.

The waiter refuses to change the tom yum until I make a huge scene.

He reluctantly took it away while showing me a super black face.

Excuse me...it's your own fucking fault that you wrote the wrong table number on the order.

It's your fucking fault the food got delivered to the wrong table.

It's that lady's fucking fault that she dug through food that she didn't order.

I was mighty pissed at this point.

Boiling mad actually.

I demanded to see the manager or boss.

The waitress when to the back of the restaurant for a little while looking for the manager I supposed and then came back and totally ignored me.

Walaueh...what kind of stupid service is it?

I raised my voice to the waitress and demanded whether the manager is coming?

She then started mumbling something about the order is at the front...blah blah blah.

Manager dare not face an angry customer?

I told her to not bother with our order and walked out.

I was bloody pissed off.

I've encountered some bad service before but it's the first time that a restaurant wanted me to eat food that was already served and intimately inspected by another customer.

If they can do such stupid thing at the front of house, just imagine what goes on in the kitchen.

I'm not such a hard customer to please actually.

Eric is the critical one...nothing escapes him and it can quite stressful when he doesn't like something about a restaurant.

But this is seriously too much.

And not even a word of "Sorry" from the obviously IQ & EQ challenged staffs.

I don't understand how can an F&B outlet not put customer service as priority?

Just because we're not paying 5 star prices doesn't mean we don't deserve some sort of acceptable level of courtesy while dining.

A very simple example is how we switched from Ganesh to Ali Berkat for our after bootcamp mamak session.

We're such regulars now that I even get discount eating there.

It's all about customer service =)

If you don't value your customer enough, they'll be gone and you won't get them back.

In my opinion, if a place serves sucky food but give great service, I'll be tempted to give them a 2nd chance. After all, chefs do make mistakes from time to time. I'm sure if you tell them what's wrong with the dish, they'll be happy to change it for you. I know as I married a chef.

However, if the service sucks, I'll never be back again no matter how yummilicious the food taste. Bad service makes yummy food taste like rubbish.

As for this relatively new restaurant, lets see how long they'll be around.

Due to their lack of customer service awareness, I'm sure they haven't heard of the phrase "Word of mouth".

No worries...I'll be sure to pass the word around on their behalf =P

And I'll never set foot in there again even if they had Christiano Ronaldo eating there wearing only tiny Speedos.

If you think that I'm being overly dramatic and you find the food there spectacular irregardless of the service level, go fuck yourself.

Shepherdoo @ Centro, Klang

Recently, Eric, Mum and I made a trip to Klang to visit a friend and to try out the restaurant he's working in now.

Thank goodness I was able to get us there without getting lost.

Though we did miss the exit and had to take a longer way to reach Centro.

It's not that hard to find lar.

It was cloudy when we got there and decided to dine al fresco.

Ample space for patrons to chill out in the nice outdoor setting. Have been told that it's very happening at night. Okaylar...this is Klang that we're talking about, imagination should be kept to a minimum on the happening part.

So cute right? Chefs at Shepherdoo even have this stitched on their chef's jacket. Cracked me up when I saw our friend walking around with a cartoon sheep on his chest =P

This is the bar which is outdoors. Looks really cool doesn't it?

Eric ordered Mojito Tea which came out green and mine is a safe Cranberry juice.

Mum and Eric started with a little salad. And I was forced to take a bite -_-

Creamy mushroom soup which came in a cup with foam. Would've fooled anyone to think it's a drink instead of soup except for that little green leafy thing sitting on top of the foam.

Mix in the foam and you'll find the yummy mushroom soup inside. Drink it with a spoon and not sipping like a drink please. The soup is made by the chefs using fresh mushrooms. Me love mushroom...just wish it was a tad bit creamier.

Nachos with guacamole and melted cheese. This would be really nice as snacks when hanging out with friends over a beer. Easily gets addicted though =D

Okay...I forgot what is this dish called. Actually, I can't remember the names of most of the dishes that night but I know these are prawns. Not one of their best though. It's not to my taste but the bread slices that came with it was good.

A tasting platter that has buffalo wings, chicken something, tortilla, fried squid and mushroom nachos. This is the most expensive dish that we had that night. And it's still be low RM30 =P

Mexican pizza made using tortilla. It's crispy on the enges but soft in the middle. Another great snack food =)

Called a 'gringo' burger if I'm not mistaken. The burger consist of a thick juicy beef patty made by the chefs and top off with an egg. Comes with curly fries which tasted just like those from A&W. Okay...looking at it now is making me super hungry.

Dinner was finished off with a special dessert made by frying a tortilla bread, dribble some honey and cinnamon on it then finish off with a scopp of ice cream. Be warn that it's super duper sweet...but those with a sweet tooth would love it =)

Shepherdoo definitely has the right ambiance to attract the young adults to chill out after a long day at work.

The food are also priced very reasonably considering the effort that goes into making it.

But I would have to say, the dishes could do with more seasoning.

Eric had to add salt and pepper to bring out the flavours to most of what we ate.

Maybe it has been toned down to suit the tastebud of the locals in Klang.

So, for those who are looking for a new place to chill in Klang, give Shepherdoo a try.

I wouldn't mind hanging out there if only it wasn't so far away.

Come early though as it get's pretty packed, I've been told.

m2d1 = month 2 day 2

So I finally decided to do bootcamp for another month and then it's off to Macau where I will hibernate during winter.(I plan to workout in Macau but lets see if I actually do it)
Today we did a circuit which involved lots of squats and too many sandbags.
My arms feel like they're falling off right now.
Some of the new recruits are doing really well...much better than me in my first month.
But it's nice to see some struggling lar...makes me feel good that I'm not the worst of the bunch =P
Since I'm a senior now but if still doing worse than the newbies then damn paiseh lar.
Yes, I'm evil. No point denying it.

By the way, my new pair of shoes are covered in mud.
It rained last night and was still drizzling when I got to Padang Astaka.
I made a great choice in choosing such a colour for my shoes as the dirty mud doesn't show at all.
To see it, you would have to come really close and look at my feet.
Me super happy...that means no need to wash shoes!

I'm feeling super hungry now eventhough had a mamak session after bootcamp.
Maybe I'm building so much muscles that I'm getting hungry faster?
Yes..yes...wishful thinking.

I'm really happy to be back in bootcamp, though it's still gruelling and hardcore.
The real reason I'm back for a 2nd month is because I know I will miss hanging out with my new friends.
I'm so used to seeing them so many times a week that the feeling of being left out is unsettling.
Now...we can share the mud bath together =P

My New Shoes

Was in Pyramid to have KFC lunch with Nick today and we went shoe shopping after that.
And we found this pair on sale =)

Spanking new super comfy shoes!

It's an All Terrain shoe so it'll be good for almost any activities I might be getting into.

Not that I'm getting into lots of outdoor stuffs but it's good to know I have a pair shoes ready for it =)

And erm...it'll be great for bootcamp and the hike up Broga Hill this weekend.

Original Bootcamp Malaysia : 2nd Assessment Day

I did it. I completed assessment day and didn't drop dead or puke!
Only decided to go this morning and I'm glad I did.
At least now I know where my fitness level stands.

Did the same thing as my first day in bootcamp one month back.
Oh...how time flies.
Last month, I couldn't even complete assessment so obviously I'm a little scared this morning.
Damn paiseh if after one month of bootcamp but still can't finish it.
Thankfully, I did it. Slow but I completed it below cutoff time.
It's a real achievement for me.
Everyone else was comparing and many made improvements to their time.
Way to go y'all!!!
As for me, I'm just super happy I finished.
That was my aim today, time didn't really matter.
What matters is the fact that I pushed hard and gave it my best.
I feel damn good now =D

Anyways, just for the record...

1st test : 14.20 minutes
1 mile run = 11.19 minutes

At mamak session after bootcamp, Corporal Jon mentioned I lost alot of weight =)
Hehehe...feels even better to hear that.
Since both Sarge Sim and Corporal Jon said the same thing, I'm going to take their words for it.
They are the expert in fitness afterall =P

Got to know a couple of new people.
Okay..technically Shaun is not new but this is the first time I've sat down and talk to him.
Didn't even notice him during bootcamp last month (not that I'm a snob ok...where got time to chit chat during training?)
People should really hangout more together after bootcamp.

Nick's business partner joined bootcamp as well.
I've got no idea why he wore a t-shirt with a hole today...kinda weird.
And his goal is only to lose weight and not getting healthier or looking better...which is even more weird.
I guess different people have different reasons for joining bootcamp.
My priority has always been to make new friends.
Losing weight and feeling better is just a bonus =)

I've still not decided if I want to do bootcamp in Nov.
If I do, then it's time to get a pair of new shoes.

Original Bootcamp Malaysia : Day 12 - The Finale

So this happened on Saturday but I didn't have time to blog until now.

It feels great!
Couldn't believe I survived one full month of bootcamp with Hell Week thrown into the mix.
I remember my first day so clearly...how much I wanted to give up and just go home to hop back into my bed.
I kept asking myself if I should continue bootcamp after that day.
Why torture myself like this?
Why go roll around on grass that I'm allergic to?
Why don't I just give up?
Why...why...why?

I don't know why I went back for day 2 with my body aching all over.
Maybe I am a little nuts.
Looking back, I'm glad I kept going back to bootcamp even after I felt like I'm dying during the gruelling workout sessions.
I've pushed myself to a point that I didn't knew existed.
I'm so not the health freak or even an active kind of person.
Bootcamp is so way out of my confort zone.
When I tell friends and family I signed up for bootcamp, they're shocked.
Even Eric.

Hell...even I'm surprised I enrolled!

I've realised I can do it if I wanted it bad enough.

I wanted it so bad that I force myself to wake up before sunrise and make sure I'm never late for bootcamp.
I wanted to prove that I can do it.
And I now know that I can do it.
But I couldn't have done it with the constant encouragement from the trainers and fellow bootcampers.

They're always there to spur me on...to keep me going.

For that, I'm forever grateful.
Without you guys and gals, I wouldn't have stucked with it =)

I'm proud of what I have achieved in bootcamp.
I wanted to be healthier, and I am.
My stamina has improved tremendously and I'm more energetic.
My body is looking better as well with muscles forming on my arms and legs.
I could now do push ups which I'm really happy about.

Hopefully I'll be able to keep this up and see some abs in a few months time *fingers crossed*

The most important achievement would be the great friends I've found in bootcamp.
That is worth all the aching muscles and allergies =P

I joined bootcamp on a whim...and there are no regrets.
It's physically and mentally rewarding for me.
It took my mind of things that were dragging me down and gave me confidence.
Confidence that I could do something that seemed so impossible.
Confidence that was lacking in me for some time now.

I'm getting all emo about finishing bootcamp.
I'm not sure if any other bootcampers feel this way.
But bootcamp had definitely changed me.

Finally on the last day of bootcamp, we get to snap some pics in our uniform!

Day 5 of Hell Week...I loved it!

Rain, rope, friends, fun & food.

One more session tomorrow and I graduate from bootcamp.
Gonna be a super short post today as I'm heading off to the airport soon.
Hope it rains again for my last day in bootcamp =P
